Teaching and Doing

"How can someone teach something that they themselves don’t do?"

I'm pondering this now.  Can I teach my kids things which I do not do myself?  What do you think?

  1. I think it depends on what you are teaching...many things you can learn yourself first if you have the desire. Then, other things you can learn as you do it. I remember when I was first teaching crafts at camp, there were many of the projects that I had never done, like working with leather. The first year I experimented and learned with the kids, and over the years I have gotten much better at it and have more info to pass on the the campers. Bunny

  3. i would have to agree. there is always room for learning. and sometimes we retain things better as we learn them together.

it's a good thought to ponder!! sometimes, when i think of my "schooling" my kiddos thats to come, i wonder this same thing myself. but i'll never be to old to learn. and maybe it's the step i need to not be so lazy. cuz gosh, can i be lazy!!

hope your having a good Christmas season!
